Our thesaurus worked overtime today when we were writing this overview of interesting US AP automation news. We had to find synonyms for words like “announce” and “select,” because many companies recently announced that they have selected a third party to automate their accounts  payable process. Perceptive Software and University of Kansas extend contract

Perceptive Software announced that the University of Kansas plans to expand its use of Perceptive Software solutions from a few individual units to a university-wide contract. Since early 2011, the University of Kansas has been involved in an on-going efficiency initiative called Changing for Excellence. KU contracted with Huron Consulting to identify potential areas of improvement in operations and systems and eliminate inefficient systems and processes.

Icelandair Group takes its chance with Brainware Distiller

Brainware made the news public that Icelandair Group, a Reykjavik-based enterprise including airline, freight, hotel, tour and ground services operations, has selected Brainware Distiller for the automation of accounts payable operations in the company’s shared services center—Fjarvakur. The customer selected Distiller after evaluating competitive offerings from Kofax and ReadSoft.

Qualicaps implements Esker AP automation solution

Esker, a provider of document process automation solutions, today announced its completion of a technology project for the European division of Qualicaps. Qualicaps is a supplier of two-piece capsules, machinery and technology. The project consisted of two phases. The first involved the process automation of Certificates of Analysis and production documentation sent to customers. The second was the implementation of vendor invoice automation.

BirchStreet pulls Northwood Hospitality aboard

Doug Sanborn, President and co-founder of BirchStreet, announced that Northwood Hospitality, a hotel management organization and an affiliate of Northwood Investors, selected BirchStreet’s Procure-to-Pay platform for the company’s four U.S. hotels to help manage over $120 Million in annual spend. The cloud-based application suite will control spend, automate accounts payable processes, track and control inventory, manage the organization’s recipe library and control recipe ingredient cost.

Sears Canada chooses ADP Procure-to-Pay Solution

ADP announced that Sears Canada Inc., has selected ADP’s Invoice Automation Suite to automate its accounts payable processes. ADP is a provider of human resource outsourcing, payroll services, tax and compliance services, benefits administration and accounts payable solutions. The electronic invoicing application is part of the ADP Procure-to-Pay Solution.

Concur selects Brainware Distiller’s invoice processing automation

Brainware made public that Concur CNQR, a provider of integrated travel and expense management services, has selected Brainware Distiller for the capture of header and line-item field data within the company’s invoice processing solution. Brainware Distiller provides optimized processing efficiency and enables Concur to process greater volumes while increasing the level of automation delivered to their customers.
