About Fannie Mae

Fannie Mae is a government-sponsored enterprise chartered by Congress to keep money flowing to mortgage lenders, to help strengthen the U.S. housing and mortgage markets, and to support affordable homeownership.

It operates in America’s secondary mortgage market to enhance the liquidity of the mortgage market by providing funds to mortgage bankers and other lenders so that they may lend to home buyers. Or as they like to phrase it: “Fannie Mae exists to expand affordable housing and bring global capital to local communities in order to serve the U.S. housing market.”

Why Fannie Mae chose LexisNexis CouncelLink?

Well, this is the answer from Amy S. Barry, Chief of Staff to the General Counsel of Fannie Mae:

“Fannie Mae is constantly looking for ways to reduce our costs and streamline our operation. One of the main reasons we chose LexisNexis CounselLink was the software’s ability to provide a single solution for matter management, e-billing and analytics.”
