Basware, the leading provider of purchase-to-pay solutions, today announced that it has received a Green Supply Chain award from Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine. The award recognizes Basware for helping companies leverage its Global e-invoicing Open Network to drive sustainable improvements in their supply chains. The Basware Open Network, which connects buyers and suppliers by forming interoperability agreements with local and global e-invoicing partners, helps companies reach their green targets by significantly reducing paper. The Open Network reduces the need to print, post, process, manually key-in, store and dispose of paper invoices.
Through the Basware Open Network, e-invoices and purchase messages can flow smoothly from any supplier to any buyer through any provider of e-invoicing services regardless of its own operator, location or document format standards. Supply & Demand Chain Executive collected submissions for the 2010 Green Supply Chain Awards through an online nomination process.
