Computacenter taps into Ariba network

It’s always a good idea to listen to your customers, because we all know the customer is always right. Computacenter, an independent provider of IT infrastructure services in Europe, listened to its customers and heard they needed greater automation across the purchasing process. And Computacenter acted, because the company tapped into the online catalogue and e-invoicing solutions on the Ariba Network to create Computacenter Connect. It makes buying goods and services as easy as buying consumer goods online.

It works both ways

According to Sam Purches, Principal e-Business Development Consultant at Computacenter, Computacenter’s customers are happy with the development. “Through the site, they can drive a standard, automated process for purchasing that delivers cost savings and fuels compliance,” he explains. As the majority of Computacenter’s orders are now invoiced electronically using the eInvoicing solutions delivered via the Ariba Network, the company has also been able to streamline its accounts payable process and speed payment cycles.
