Basware230x200Basware, the leading provider of purchase to pay solutions, today announced it has been awarded the Financial-i annual Leaders in Innovation Award for its Accounts Payable services. The awards will be featured in the Q4 2010 edition of Financial-i later this month, highlighting the leading providers of financial services and technologies that are at the forefront of innovation.

The Leaders in Innovation Awards identify global transaction banks and financial hardware and software providers that in the last 12 months have excelled, in terms of innovation in business solutions”. The categories are based on four main focus areas which include payments and cash management, securities services, trade finance and supply chain and business solutions.

“The competition was fierce across a number of categories this year as banks and financial software vendors invested more heavily in innovations designed to make the user experience more personalised and intuitive using the latest Web 2.0 applications,” said Anita Hawser, managing editor of financial-i. “Banks and technology providers’ investment in SOA-based platforms is also starting to pay off in terms of being able to more quickly introduce a wider range of capabilities and functionality across the enterprise backbone to help overcome some of the previous limitations around legacy architectures.”

Winners in each category were selected based on research conducted by financial-i’s team of journalists as well as feedback received from the awards advisory panel, which includes industry analysts, consultants and practitioners.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to be recognised as a leader in innovation for the second year running at the Financial-i awards,” said Andrew Jesse, VP at Basware UK. “As an organisation that provides businesses with complete purchase-to-pay tools, it’s great to be acknowledged this year for our hard work and commitment to maximising the efficiency of the accounts payable function.  As we make our way towards economic stability, businesses are finding that visibility of financial commitments is vital to their growth. Our technology is helping organisations of all sizes to achieve this visibility so it’s great to see it being honoured among the world’s leading accounts payable innovators.”

Basware Accounts Payable services help finance departments remove time consuming manual and paper based processes from their systems so that the time and cost burdens of financial processes are reduced. The solutions also provide organisations with increased visibility over their financial commitments, something which is vital to all businesses as the economy moves into a period of recovery.
