Just 2 months after electronic invoicing became mandatory in Chile, the Chilean Internal Revenue Service (SII), reported some impressive adoption statistics. According to the latest figures, from a potential universe of 9880 large companies, 87% are now operating with the system. This figure represents an increase of 17 percentage points compared to the 70% – some 6911 businesses – signed up at the end of October, before the legal requirement came into force.

Edicom interviewed Ricardo Pizarro, Head of Taxpayer Support and Assistance and IRS spokesperson on all electronic invoicing-related issues in Chile, to find out his take on the process and what the State’s next steps to facilitate transactions among taxpayers in the B2B age will be.
