Germany releases exhaustive B2G e-invoicing implementation guidelinesGerman Secretary of Homeland Affairs Rogall-Grothe has presented new guidelines for the electronic exchange of invoices. The “Guide on Electronic invoicing in the public sector” contains implementation recommendations, best practices and statistical information aimed at governments at all federal levels. It is a comprehensive compendium on the use of electronic invoicing in public procurement.

On May 26, 2014 European directive on electronic invoicing in public procurement came into force. The new directive makes it mandatory for public authorities to receive and process electronic invoices in public procurement.

This guide is intended to provide a sound basis for the measures necessary to implement the Directive. Next to recommendations on electronic exchange of invoices, it also contains concrete examples of current pilot projects as well as tips for implementation.
