John Lewis Partnership selects OB10 for electronic invoicing

November 4, 2011  |  Electronic Invoicing, Europe

Yep, OB10 did it again. This time John Lewis Partnership, a leading UK retailer, selected OB10 for electronic invoicing. With its choice John Lewis Partnership aims ‘to drive efficiencies and streamline its processes with suppliers to support the continuing growth of its business.’

That sounds a bit vague, doesn’t it? So let’s dive a bit deeper into this story.

About John Lewis Partnership

The John Lewis Partnership is a visionary and successful way of doing business, boldly putting the happiness of Partners at the centre of everything it does.

It’s the embodiment of an ideal, the outcome of nearly a century of endeavour to create a different sort of company, owned by Partners dedicated to serving customers with flair and fairness.

All 76,500 permanent staff are Partners who own 35 John Lewis shops across the UK (29 department stores and six John Lewis at home), 267 Waitrose supermarkets, an online and catalogue business, johnlewis.com, a production unit and a farm.

The business has annual  gross sales of over £8.2bn. Partners share in the benefits and profits of a business that puts  them first. For more information, visit www.johnlewispartnership.co.uk.

John Lewis Partnership and electronic invoicing

John Lewis Partnership is phasing out paper invoices and launching new solutions to ensure that its suppliers can send their invoices electronically to the John Lewis Partnership Services, its business services division.

By using electronic invoicing by OB10, the John Lewis Partnership suppliers are to benefit from secure and guaranteed invoice delivery within hours, which will allow its Financial Processing department to process invoices more quickly and with greater transparency.

It wasn’t in the press release, but we surely hope that it also leads to faster payments of invoices by John Lewis Partnership.

Why they choose OB10, the E-invoicing Network

Time to let the John Lewis Partnership  do the talking. This what Chris Darlington, Project Lead at Partnership Services said about the choice for OB10:

  1. “Supporting suppliers’ transition to e-Invoicing is important”.
  2. “A key differentiator in our selection process was OB10’s proven skills in working with
suppliers to successfully onboard them to the e-Invoicing network,”
  3. “We particularly liked OB10’s ability to accept any file and any format, which makes e-Invoicing as easy aspossible for our suppliers.”
  4. “17% of the suppliers that submit their goods-not-forresale (GNFR) invoices are already on the OB10 e-Invoicing network.”

And this is how Luke McKeever, CEO at OB10, reacted:

  1. “e-Invoicing is an important element of any finance initiative as it supports and
    streamlines the purchase-to-pay process,”
  2. “We are delighted to support the John Lewis Partnership on its journey and welcome it to our network alongside our growing list of major retail clients.
