Since moving to Wesupply’s B2B platform, ASSA ABLOY UK has significantly increased the volume of orders processed electronically, whilst realising IT cost savings. For a company like ASSA ABLOY UK, whose overall focus is to meet the rising demand for increased security with a product-driven offering centred on the customer, the company cannot afford to let EDI issues impact their levels of customer service.
About ASSA ABLOY
ASSA ABLOY is the global leader in door opening solutions, dedicated to satisfying end-user needs for security, safety and convenience. Since it was founded in 1994, ASSA ABLOY has grown from a regional company into an international group with about 43,000 employees, operations in more than 70 countries and sales of about SEK 48 billion.
ASSA ABLOY offers a more complete range of door opening solutions than any other company on the market. In the fast-growing electromechanical security segment, the Group has a leading position in areas such as access control, identification technology, door automation and hotel security. ASSA ABLOY was formed on November 8, 1994, when Securitas in Sweden and Metra in Finland merged their lock businesses.
A need for more efficient EDI (on-boarding)
ASSA ABLOY UK was finding its existing EDI solution increasingly costly and complex to maintain. The company needed a new EDI provider that was capable of bringing new customers on-board in a timely and efficient manner, via a B2B platform that could easily connect to the company’s new Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP system, enabling full automation.
Wesupply’s EDI service provides ASSA ABLOY UK with a single customer facing electronic trading network, controlling all transactions, including Purchase Orders, Acknowledgements, ASN’s, Invoices, Remittance Advices, Despatch Notes, Price Files and Credit Notes, with approaching 30 customers, including Argos, B&Q, Asda, Wickes and Robert Dyas.
Aaron Butcher, UK IT Manager at ASSA ABLOY UK:
“Moving our EDI requirements to Wesupply’s fully managed service has been a core part of our ‘Seamless Flow’ programme, which is designed to achieve automation and integration across our supply chain. A key benefit is the increased efficiency in the exchange of information with our customers, which ensures we deliver excellent customer service and accurately fulfil orders.”
Jerry Quinn, Sales Director at Wesupply:
“Adopting a seamless approach to customer interaction is testament to ASSA ABLOY UK’s market leadership as a trusted supply chain partner to both the retail and wholesale markets. We’re delighted to be adding their highly regarded brand to our growing list of Building Distribution clients, as we continue to demonstrate our success in providing a service that meets the sector’s needs.”
