GS1 certified data aggregator 150x150 EDICOMData – the first Aggregator certified by GS1 for the TSD networkEDICOMData, the electronic data pool from EDICOM, has been certified by GS1 as the first product data synchronization platform authorized to work in the TSD (Trusted Source of Data) network. EDICOMData was already authorized as a GDSN solution. And now it is also accredited to operate as a TSD system, becoming the world’s most comprehensive product data synchronization platform, working with the same tool in both frameworks.

Trusted Source of Data or TSD is the initiative launched by GS1 to set up an international network that enables the exchange of important product information for end consumers. A network designed to manage information in B2C environments, where approved solutions are known as Aggregators, and EDICOMData has now become the first ever solution worldwide to achieve this accreditation.

What is the GS1 TSD (Trusted Source of Data) network?

The TSD network enables the exchange of product information under a single standard, simplifying interchanges between companies worldwide connected to an approved data pool.

The system for exchanging information between data pools through the TSD network is similar to GDSN (Global Data Synchronization Network), the only initiative in existence to date for synchronizing supplier and distributed product databases.

Unlike GDSN, which was designed to handle logistics or commercial information, the TSD network enables suppliers and distributors to synchronize their data with information aimed at the final consumer.

EDICOMData, which was already authorized as a GDSN solution, is now accredited to operate as a TSD system, becoming the world’s most comprehensive product data synchronization platform, working with the same tool in both frameworks.

What is a Data Aggregator?

Aggregator is the name given to TSD solutions approved by GS1. An Aggregator e-catalogue or data pool functions as a database that stores the product information in a standard format, simplifying the exchange of information between all platforms accredited through the TSD network.

Exchanging information between data pools through the Trusted Source of Data responds to the growing need of businesses to provide relevant information for the final consumer of the products. Information such as their nutritional composition or allergy warnings, whose updating and delivery to the end consumer is simplified through Aggregator solutions like EDICOMData.

The network’s design simplifies the synchronization of product databases, allowing information to be kept updated and made available to consumers prior to completion of the sale in online sales websites, or even through mobile applications, which ultimately allows users to meet the requirements of European Regulation 1169/2011 on food safety.
