For the Mexcican SME taxpayers making electronic invoicing mandatory is somewhat of a radical cultural change en for some of them, a bit awkward, according to the Mexican Association Authorized Certification Providers (Amexipac).
The organization representing Authorized Certification Providers (PAC), said that for some of these taxpayers it is more comfortable to remain outside the technological evolution, even though it is inevitable in tax matters.
In my opinion, the Directive fails to address key issues, without which it will be impossible to achieve real financial and environmental gains for Europe and the business community that serves it.
Whilst I would always welcome all efforts to encourage the use of e-invoicing, in my view this Directive just scratches the surface and leaves many unanswered questions. My fear is that it will actually serve to delay the full economic benefits of e-invoicing, which would make €2.3 billion look like small change.

Though it does provide some clearance. However some things are still left unanswered. Like “what is an e-invoice?” or “What is de role of PEPPOL in this topic?”. So in the near future we hope to unlock these also. But for now….here goes:

It represents a major step in the country’s progress in its goal towards the development of e-government that provides greater efficiency, avoide the use of paper, to minimize fraud and to increase in public agility.
The successful implementation of electronic invoicing in Mexico has attracted much interest of the European Commission, as well as single EU Member States.
