Pfizer selects Invoiceware International for compliant Uruguay DGI e-Invoicing and reporting mandates

Invoiceware International announced that it has been selected by Pfizer for compliance support in Uruguay. Pfizer is a specialist in healthcare and pharmaceutical manufacturing and selected Invoiceware International to manage requirements mandated by the Uruguayan government spanning e-invoicing and daily reporting.

Invoiceware International has become the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry’s preferred partner in Latin America by reducing costs and the need for dedicated IT resources for dozens of healthcare and pharmaceutical manufacturers, including Medtronic, the world’s largest standalone medical technology development company, and Qiagen, a provider of sample and assay technologies for molecular diagnostics, applied testing, academic and pharmaceutical research.

Pfizer knew it needed a knowledgeable compliance partner to take on Uruguay’s comprehensive list of requirements and end-to-end certification process. The pharmaceutical leader selected Invoiceware International because of its complete end-to-end solution, which effectively manages changing regulations and eliminates the burden of addressing SAP modifications internally. Invoiceware International offers the only solution that enables the full automation of sending invoices in combination with the submission of daily fiscal reports required by the government in Uruguay, while also providing industry expertise to facilitate the initial certification process in Uruguay.

Mandatory e-invoicing in Uruguay

In July 2015, Uruguay’s DGI announced expanded deadlines for electronic invoicing based on company revenue. This latest mandate represents a more structured approach for Uruguay.  Previously, the DGI would send a personal letter to companies mandating each to go live in approximately 6 months. Scott Lewin, President & CEO, Invoiceware International:
“In Latin America, the governments have very stringent laws in the pharmaceutical industry, severely penalizing companies who fail to maintain compliance with processes like Uruguay’s e-invoicing and reporting requirementsOur solution ensures that companies like Pfizer not only maintain complete compliance, but are able to minimize business disruptions when new mandates rollout. We fully support processes in Uruguay at a fixed cost, so that our clients can eliminate constant internal SAP ERP changes.”
