Movistar Ecuador saves 150 tons of paper via e-billing

Movistar Ecuador has announced that it will save some 150 tons of paper a year and prevent over 2,500 trees from being cut down after becoming the first operator in the country to introduce electronic invoices. The company has delivered electronic invoices to its entire customer base since June 2014, converting Ecuador into the first country in the region in which Telefonica has achieved this target. Movistar Ecuador said the achievement was not only environmental, it also enabled full transparency and helped reduce errors for both customers and the tax authorities.
