The 4th EESPA annual survey results are in: >1,6 billion B2B/B2G/B2C e-invoices processed!

1 615 million electronic invoices were processed and delivered in 2016 by members of the European E-Invoicing Service Providers Association (EESPA). This represented a significant growth of 29 per cent over 2015 volumes of 1 252 million. This year for the first time EESPA asked the question ‘what is the average value of an invoice processed by your firm?’. The figure derived from the relative limited range of responses was EUR 5868. On this basis, the total value of the reported invoices processed was EUR 9 477 billion.

Italy to launch CIUS-IT: the first CIUS based on e-invoice standard EN-16931 [UPDATE]

It will be interesting to see which countries will also implement EN-16931 together with a CIUS and how it will differ from this and other CIUS-es.  And that raises an other question: does your financial software allow for country specific invoice templates based on UBL? Is it CIUS-ready? This could become a big uh-oh for the successful adoption of e-invoicing in Europe.

Bouygues Telecom opts for Cegedim’s KISS solution to achieve its goal of 100% paperless supplier invoices

Cegedim e-business, a major player in electronic exchanges in Europe, has designed KISS (Keep Invoicing Smart and Simple) as an innovative and simple solution with the goal of encouraging broader adoption of e-invoicing. KISS incorporates the most recent regulatory developments and removes obstacles to e-invoicing, particularly for suppliers who only send a small number of invoices.

KISS gives Bouygues Telecom a full-featured e-invoicing solution

Bouygues Telecom had been working on its e-invoicing systems with Cegedim e-business for two years already, but wanted to ramp up digitisation with its partners across the board. By implementing signed pdf files and EDI, which are well suited to suppliers with medium to heavy invoicing volumes, the company had already cut paper invoicing in half. To reach its goal of 100% electronic invoicing by the end of 2017, Bouygues Telecom rolled out Cegedim e-business’ KISS in February 2017 in order to enroll all of its suppliers, even those who only send a small number of invoices.

Joël Blanchenet, Head of the e-invoicing project at Bouygues Telecom:
“We chose KISS because we wanted to offer our suppliers a tax-compliant e-invoicing tool that is simple, universal and accessible to everyone. We have been working hard to get the word out to our suppliers, and are already 65% paperless. Our suppliers have been enthusiastic about the project. They see it as a truly innovative step that benefits everyone involved.”

Régis Caminade, GIS Business Engineer at Cegedim’s e-business BU:
“User feedback for the KISS solution we launched in early 2016 is very positive. It lets purchasing departments and suppliers share a single tool that meets the needs of both sides. We are now starting a rapid roll-out of the new solution,”

KISS, easy access to e-invoicing

KISS is free for suppliers to use and getting started is easy :

  • No software to install, access via an online portal,
  • Sign up in three clicks with a client invitation,
  • User-friendly interface.

The KISS portal gives users :

  • Multiple options for sending invoices: uploading, email, online entry,
  • A dashboard for monitoring invoice status in real time,
  • Compliance with tax rules for electronic invoices,
  • 24/7 access and secure data exchanges.

The solution also means faster payment for suppliers and a smaller carbon footprint.

My suggestion for the CEF Telecom 2017-3 call for proposals on e-invoicing

Doesn't it feel a bit weird that EU community money (!) was spent on a new standard that is aimed be used by everyone, mandated (!) in the EU, but that is not freely available (!) because CEN holds the IP rights (!), and meanwhile there is €4 million available to promote adoption of this standard?
