Air Namibia implements Accelya to manage costs and drive efficiency

Accelya, the leading solutions provider of financial and business intelligence solutions to the Airline industry, has announced that Air Namibia, the flag carrier airline of Namibia has selected Accelya’s Cost Management (FinesseCost) and Flight Profitability (FinesseFPS) Solutions of FinesseSuite.

Air Namibia operates scheduled domestic, regional, and international passenger and cargo services. The airline was looking for a solution that could reduce their manual paperwork in their payable department and use their data and information to support fact driven decision making.

The airline selected Accelya’s FinesseCost and FinesseFPS solution. The scope of services include automate processing of Clearing House (CH) and Non-Clearing House invoices, accruals, Direct Operating Cost (DOC) verification, workflow, accounting integration with ERP and a supplier portal which will be used by airline’s suppliers to input their (bilateral) invoices.

FinesseCost and FinesseFPS will enable Air Namibia to:

  • Centralise, standardise and simplify payable invoice process through automation;
  • Prevent cost leakages thus improving cash flow and profitability with auto-verification of inward invoices;
  • Reduce manual effort and cost involved in invoice distribution and verification;
  • Accurately and timely calculate flight Direct Operating Costs;
  • Quick reporting with reasonable accuracy and adequate analytical dimensions;
  • Identify network profitability using origin and destination (O&D) analysis;
  • Create report of various KPIs such as RPK, Load Factor. This acts as a complete CFO Dashboard.
