Basware inks AP automation and e-invoicing deal with major UK hospitality provider

Basware has signed an agreement for the delivery of accounts payable automation and e-invoicing services with a major UK hospitality retail providers. The services are powered by Alusta. Alusta is Basware’s vision on a unified cloud-based platform for purchase-to-pay. The agreement includes invoice automation and – an ambition towards- 100% inbound e-invoicing services.

GS1 and PEPPOL investigate interoperability cooperation

The aim of GS1, in the short-term, is to run a proof-of-concept scenario for GS1 eCom messages (EANCOM and GS1 XML) to be transported through the PEPPOL Transport Infrastructure. In the future GS1 intends to introduce PEPPOL to the entire GS1 community, both public sector suppliers and major retailers.
This could implicate another step towards convergence between private and public sector eBusiness practices.

EESPA was featured in the latest edition of the prominent ‘Parliament Magazine’ on the model interoperability agreement. Alongside an interesting two-pager on how the the EU directive on electronic invoicing in public procurement come in to existence. The article unveils that the most difficult part of the negotiations with the council was agreeing on the time period available to contracting authorities and entities before the standard is made mandatory. Definitely worth reading.

New EU regulation for electronic ID and trust services [related to einvoicing]

On 4 June 2012, the European Commission proposed a draft Regulation on electronic identification and trust services for electronic transactions in the internal market.
