The SERES study “La Factura Electrónica en España 2012-2013″ confirms the good health eFactura that appears immune to the economic crisis.
During 2013 the Spanish companies generated 59 million electronic invoices, saving 458 million euros and saving over 250,000 hours of repetitive and unproductive labor. Furthermore, SERES states that e-invoicing had had a positive environmental impact, preventing 3300 trees from being logged.
The study “The Electronic Invoice in Spain 2012-2013″ also confirms that 35% of all Spanish companies use e-invoicing. From 2012 to 2013 the absolute amount of companies grew from 120.000 to a total of 130.000. A growth of 10.2%, even while the number of firms in Spain has decreased by 1.84% during that period.
New legal framework
On 19 December, the House of the Congress approved the law the promote the use of Electronic Invoicing and created the accounting record of invoices in the Public Sector. The new legal framework wants to streamline procedures and reduce provider payment delinquencies and the average payment period, through an indicator which displays the volume of commercial debt administrations.
