The Republic of Moldova has aspirations. Joining the European Union, for instance. So the Eastern European country has implemented the first three-year Action Plan within the framework of the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP). But the action doesn’t stop there. The Agency for Public Procurement of the Government of Moldova has launched the first-ever electronic procurement system. Bringing Moldova closer to the EU standards and requirements in the management of public procurement processes. Step by step Moldova is moving in the right direction.
Thanks UNDP
The system is piloted in 34 central public authorities, allowing access to the most used types of procurement procedures. Developed with UNDP support, the system will now facilitate an easier and more transparent access to public procurement processes and data to both users of the system and the general public. The system works 24/7 and reduced the number of contracting authorities responsibles’ visits to the Public Procurement Agency from 5-6 to just one for registering the contracts. Moreover, the documentation packages are available online free of charge replacing the 200 Moldovan lei fee per package in the past.
