The meeting will represent another great opportunity to network and decide on the future direction and activities of the Association.
EESPA members and the Secretariat have been actively engaged in CEN/TC 434 and this briefing provides an up to date picture of what is happening
Late November 2016 EESPA held its annual general meeting. 70 people attended from members, associate members and as guests. EESPA now has 59 full members and 11 associate members and continues to grow.
EESPA and OpenPEPPOL are very concerned by the provision in the Directive 2014/55/EU that all 300.000+ EU public sector contracting authorities will need to be able to receive electronic invoices expressed in any of a list of up to four syntaxes to be recommended by CEN TC 434 for a European core invoice standard. They propose 2 syntaxes.
The cooperation aims at developing common positions on EU public policy support for e-invoicing, promoting interoperability and rolling out easy-to-use services.
With its current over 60 full and associate members, EESPA focuses on public policy issues, the creation of an interoperable eco-system and championing the widespread adoption of e-invoicing for the benefit of economic efficiency and growth.
There are some areas in which digitisation has the capacity to transform the way a company conducts its business while also saving it significant amounts of money. Invoicing certainly falls within this category. But e-invoicing also battles fraud.
986 million electronic invoices were processed and delivered to invoice receivers in 2014 by EESPA members. This represented a significant growth of 17 per cent over 2013 volumes of 840 million.
In summary: the 2014 figures reveal a rather less buoyant growth in B2B and B2G transactions processed than in the previous year. The B2C sector on the other hand showed very substantial growth and a growth of over 50% is very striking.
