The Green Supply Chain Awards
The 2013 Green Supply Chain Awards recognize:
- companies that are making green sustainability a core part of their supply chain strategy, and are working to achieve measurable sustainability goals within their own operations and/or supply chains, in the areas of: sourcing/procurement, fulfillment/logistics, operations, Product Lifecycle Management, and other areas of the supply chain.
- providers of supply chain solutions and services assisting their customers in achieving measurable sustainability goals. Submissions were judged based on the clarity and content of the goals and strategy, the extent of the steps being taken, the impact of the results to date and projected results, and the form and presentation of the information submitted.
Barry Hochfelder, editor, Supply & Demand Chain Executive:
- “Leading companies recognize that initiating sustainable practices in their supply chain processes is key to driving their competitive edge.”
- “This has been increasingly evident over the past few years and is relatively clear with the increased number of entries we received this year for our annual green awards. The increased adoption of green best practices and strategies will only continue to grow.”
Robert Cohen, VP, Basware North America:
- “As companies work to become more eco-friendly and reduce their carbon footprint, they are realizing that the Accounts Payable department is one of the largest contributors to corporate paper consumption.”
- “Basware is committed to helping companies eliminate the vast amount of paper invoices they receive by delivering automated purchase-to-pay and e-invoicing solutions, which also enable faster processing times, reduced costs and improved productivity.”
