This week the EU Parliament has voted in favour of abolishing mobile roaming fees and maintaining net neutrality. While US lawmakers have generally favoured corporate entities on these matters, this show the European Union’s tendency to share forces with consumers.
So what’s the deal on this with regard to e-invoicing? Well, not much at first glance. But let’s focus on the roaming fees.

The drafting of the Interoperability Charter began almost one year ago, as part of a GS1 France Working Group of users. It emerged from a shared desire among GS1 member companies, publishers and operators of electronic invoicing solutions, to create the optimum conditions for a managed, stress-free and fast deployment of electronic invoicing.
25 companies specialized in the electronic invoicing operations gathered around GS1 France have officially signed the E-invoicing Interoperability Charter. This charter aims to reaffirm the free exchange of electronic invoices, especially when the electronic bill passes through two different operators.
The development of the E-invoicing Interoperability Charter began almost a year, as part of a working group composed of users GS1 France. It is the result of the will of GS1 member companies, publishers and operators of electronic invoicing solutions, to support the fast adoption of e-invoicing while adhering to legal electronic invoicing requirements.
